Bandwidth

This Article Includes: Reading the Bar and Pie Charts Showing your Bandwidth Usage.

The First Step is to log in to your cPanel Control Panel. You should be able to log in at: http://www.Your_Domain.com:2083 (where Your_Domain.com is your actual Domain).

After Logged In, Click on the “Bandwidth” Icon Under the “Logs” Heading.

This feature displays bandwidth usage information, allowing you to monitor the heaviest traffic times for your site, as well as help you to decide whether you should purchase more bandwidth for your website.

The bar graphs

Bandwidth information is displayed over several sets of graphs. Each graph contains information about bandwidth usage during a particular period of time.

Bandwidth information is divided into 6 categories:

* HTTP (web traffic)
* POP3 (receiving email)
* IMAP (receiving email)
* FTP (file transfer)
* SMTP (sending email)
* All

Note: The All category, displayed in green, provides the combined total of all the other categories.

The pie charts

Each pie chart contains information that pertains to a particular month. The pie charts show the proportion of monthly bandwidth used by each service (e.g. FTP, SMTP, etc) associated with a domain.

To view more information about a particular month, click the Total (all services) link.

The Bandwidth Transfer Detail screen

You can view this information for a particular month by clicking the appropriate Total (all services) link on the main page.

This page contains a series of bandwidth usage graphs that pertain to a particular month. It displays a series of graphs showing the amount of bandwidth used by each type of traffic: HTTP, POP3, IMAP, FTP, and SMTP.

Note: You may notice discrepancies between information WHM provides and the information log processing program (such as AWStats, Webalizer, or Analog) provide.

The Bandwidth By Day chart

You can view this information for a particular month by clicking the appropriate Total (all services) link on the main page.

Below the Bandwidth Transfer Detail bar graphs is a chart that shows the proportion of bandwidth used by each type of traffic for each day of the month. You can click on a particular day, as long as it falls within the last 14 days, to see more detail.

Note: In certain circumstances, you may notice discrepancies between the data in bandwidth graphs and that displayed in other areas of cPanel.
