Windows 98/NT/2000/XP Flush DNS

READ FIRST: You should make note of the Instructions below, and close all open Browser Windows and Close Your Email Software BEFORE flushing your DNS.

Flushing the DNS on Windows is an easy process, outlined below is the steps that should be run if you wish to clear your DNS cache.

#1. Open up a command prompt (Start > Run > Type: “cmd.exe” > OK) OR (Start > All Prograns > Accessories > Command Prompt)
This will open a Command window (small window black background).

#2. Type in the command “ipconfig /flushdns” Hit Enter On your Keyboard.


The Results should say: “Succesfully Flushed the DNS resolver cache”

#3. Shut Down Your Computer.

#4. To Ensure you Have Thoroughly Cleared Your cache we Suggest that you also Restart your Modem and Router (if using one). Turn off or Unplug Your Modem and Router. Wait at least 3 Minutes Then Restart Your Modem (wait for it to fully boot up), Then Restart your Router (wait for it to fully Reboot), Then Restart Your Computer.
